Related Documents Related Images  Commercial arborist service industries treating for emerald ash borer (EAB) can access current University of Wisconsin research based recommendations. Current research suggests treatments for ash trees either located within a 10 to 12 mile radius of a confirmed EAB site or for trees located within a quarantined area. Insecticide treatments are not recommended for ash trees located outside of these areas. Economic considerations, insecticide products available to professionals and application methods and timings are essential tools for managing ash tree care. To encourage tree diversity in our urban landscapes, Dr. Laura Jull, UW Extension Woody Ornamental Specialist, has compiled a detailed list of tree species and cultivars to consider whenever replacing existing trees (ie: ash) or developing a new landscape plan. Many cultivars are available and provide species diversity.
